Recognising its strengths whilst considering its size and resources, Scotland can emerge as a world leader in the application and deployment of AI by taking a citizen focus – how AI and Data can benefit the citizens of Scotland and the world, whilst also enabling economic growth. The strategy will be developed with benefit to the people of Scotland as the core guiding principle and align to the Scottish Government’s National Performance Framework purpose of improving the wellbeing of the people of Scotland and giving opportunities for all to flourish.

A high level AI strategy for Scotland that outlines the roadmap for the following 5 years with key targets/ambitions

OWNERSHIP

A declaration of strategy owners and their responsibility for roadmap delivery needs

TRUST

Build citizen trust in the use of data and AI technologies and in organisations using them

INVESTMENT

The strategy should outline measures to leverage existing national assets and identify new areas for investment from public and private sector for:
i. R&D
ii. Applications
iii. Start ups
iv. Public engagement
